SORTED is an independent company. The government doesn't approve or endorse any kit, ours included. We built this box to the categories in its published Be Ready checklist. Some items, like medication and copies of your ID, only you can add, so we include a 10-minute card that tells you exactly what to put in.

Questions

The sensible questions.

Is this kit government approved?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who says theirs is. The government publishes a checklist but doesn't approve products. We built the box to that checklist, and the table above shows how each item maps to it.

The guidance says 3 litres per person per day. Why isn't there 18 litres in the box?

That much water weighs 18 kg and would double the price of delivery. You get 3 litres of sealed water that keeps for five years, plus fold-flat containers that hold 20 litres. Fill them when a storm or water warning is announced. That covers the full guidance without a crate of bottles in your hall.

How long does everything last?

The sealed water and ration packs have a five-year shelf life. Batteries are long-life. We email you before anything expires and can send replacements at cost.

When will it arrive?

Within 5 working days by tracked courier, free across mainland UK. We'll email you a tracking link when it ships.

Can I send it back?

Yes. You can return an unused box within 30 days for a full refund.

Will this keep us safe in a war or a pandemic?

No box can promise that, and we won't pretend otherwise. This covers what the government asks for: getting through about three days without power, water or phone signal while help reaches the people who need it most.
